Offence Summary

Keith Stanley, a dangerous sexual predator from Stratford, repeatedly sexually abused two girls over periods spanning more than 20 years and was sentenced to 29 years in prison.

Full Description

Keith Stanley, a 61-year-old man from Stratford in south Warwickshire, was convicted of multiple counts of rape and sexual abuse against two young victims. The case came to light in March 2025 when a teenage girl bravely reported that she had endured sexual abuse at Stanley's hands for five years. Following his arrest, Stanley was initially charged with eight counts of rape of a girl and remanded in custody.

During the investigation, a second victim emerged, revealing that she had been abused by Stanley when she was under 16, more than 20 years prior. Detectives from the child abuse team swiftly gathered evidence, leading to 14 additional charges against Stanley for offences committed against this second victim. The comprehensive case built by the authorities highlighted the repeated and prolonged nature of the abuses, spanning decades.

On 14 November 2025, at Warwick Crown Court, Stanley faced justice for his crimes. He was sentenced to 29 years' imprisonment, with an additional six years on licence. The sentencing underscored the severity of his actions as a dangerous predator, ensuring his potential incarceration for the remainder of his life.

Detective Constable Ellena Psomadakis commended the extraordinary bravery of the two victims, stating, 'I would like to highlight the extraordinary bravery of the two victims who came forward and helped us to build up a strong case.' She also acknowledged the diligent work of the officers and detectives involved, as well as the support provided by advocates from the charity Safeline. This case, reported by the Leamington Courier, serves as a stark reminder of the long-term impact of such offences and the importance of victims coming forward.
