Offence Summary

Jordan Davies was sentenced to 28 months in prison after pleading guilty to threatening to share an intimate image of a woman and sending her abusive messages, including a threat to stab her.

Full Description

A 24-year-old man from Pwllheli, North Wales, has been imprisoned for over two years following his admission to serious offences involving threats to distribute an intimate image and violent communications.

Jordan Davies, residing on High Street in Pwllheli, appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court on Friday, where Recorder Duncan Bould imposed a 28-month custodial sentence. Davies will serve half of this period in custody, with the balance on licence. Additionally, a 10-year restraining order was granted, alongside a statutory surcharge.

The court heard from prosecuting barrister William Griffin that Davies sent a series of abusive messages to the victim, one of which explicitly stated: "I must stab you." The woman, distressed by the threats, promptly reported the matter to North Wales Police. Davies pleaded guilty to threatening to share an image of a person in an intimate state, contrary to the Online Safety Act, as well as a further serious criminal offence encompassing the malicious communications.

  • The victim provided an impact statement detailing her ongoing anxiety and fear, stating she felt "anxious and scared" to venture out or visit others.
  • Davies's criminal history includes eight prior convictions for 13 offences, notably malicious communications, harassment causing fear of violence, and the unauthorised disclosure of private sexual photographs intended to cause distress.

In mitigation, defence barrister Richard Edwards emphasised Davies's early guilty plea and his struggles with mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Edwards noted the offences occurred over a short timeframe and did not involve physical violence. However, a pre-sentence report indicated Davies showed limited remorse and insight, presenting a high risk of harm, with indications he was likely to reoffend.

The sentencing reflects the court's recognition of the severe impact on the victim and Davies's pattern of similar behaviour, as reported by Wales Updates on 30 March 2026.
