Full Description

Connor Cashmore, a 28-year-old resident of Bell Lane in Broadheath, Worcestershire, was imprisoned for 20 years following his conviction for serious child sex offences as part of a paedophile ring. Described by West Mercia Police as one of the most severe cases they had encountered, Cashmore's crimes involved the exploitation and abuse of young children.

Cashmore was arrested in September 2024 and charged with 16 offences, including rape and sexual assault of children under 13, engaging and inciting a child into sexual activity, and the making and distribution of indecent images of children. He admitted to all charges during a court appearance just one month after his arrest. The offences came to light through an investigation by West Mercia Police, highlighting the organised nature of the paedophile ring operating in the region.

At his sentencing hearing in April 2025 at Worcester Crown Court, Judge (name not specified in reports) imposed the 20-year custodial sentence, emphasising the gravity of the crimes and their long-lasting impact on the victims. In addition to the prison term, Cashmore was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the sex offenders' register for life. Police statements underscored the determination to dismantle such networks, with Detective Inspector (name not specified) noting, 'This case represents one of the worst instances of child sexual exploitation we have dealt with, and we are relieved that Cashmore will be off the streets for a significant period.'

The case was reported extensively by Worcester News, drawing attention to the hidden dangers of online grooming and the importance of vigilance in protecting children. Cashmore's admission of guilt spared the victims from reliving their trauma in a full trial, but the court heard details of how the ring operated, sourcing and sharing abusive material across encrypted platforms.
