Offence Summary

Aaron Kainth attempted to meet 12-year-old girls in Wolverhampton for sexual activity by sending messages online, believing he was communicating with children. He was arrested following an undercover operation and sentenced to seven years and two months in prison.

Full Description

Aaron Kainth, a 24-year-old man from Wolverhampton, engaged in predatory online behaviour targeting young girls. In April 2025, he sent messages to individuals he believed to be 12-year-old girls, attempting to arrange meetings for sexual activity. Unbeknownst to Kainth, he was actually communicating with undercover officers from West Midlands Police, supported by the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU).

The operation was designed to identify and apprehend individuals posing a risk to children online. Kainth's messages included attempts to facilitate child sex offences, cause a female child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and encourage a child under 13 to view images of sexual activity. He was also charged with two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Following his arrest, Kainth appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 9 March 2026, where he pleaded guilty to all charges. The court sentenced him to seven years and two months' imprisonment and placed him on the sex offenders register for life. Detective Inspector Chris Brown from the Major Crime Team commented on the case, stating: 'Kainth displayed predatory behaviour. He wanted to meet up and have sex with a child of 12 and thought the person he was talking to online was of that age. Instead he was talking to one of our undercover officers. We are pleased that we were able to stop Kainth from attempting to talk to children online and now he is behind bars is no longer a threat to young girls.' This successful intervention by West Midlands Police prevented potential harm to vulnerable children in the region.
