Offence Summary

A registered sex offender caught with indecent images of children, breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and failing to comply with sex offender requirements.

Full Description

A convicted sex offender has been jailed after detectives caught him viewing indecent images of children. Adam Howe, 38, of Love Lane in Heaton Norris, Stockport, appeared at Manchester Crown Court and pleaded guilty to three charges: distribution of indecent images, breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and failing to comply with sex offender requirements.

Detectives described Howe as a 'deliberate and persistent predator who posed a clear risk to children'. The court heard how he had previously been placed on the Sex Offenders Register and was subject to strict monitoring conditions, which he deliberately flouted.

At the sentencing hearing last week, the judge handed down a custodial term of four years and six months, with an extended licence period of nine years and six months. The sentence reflects the serious nature of his offending and the danger he continues to pose to the public.
