A paedophile from Princes Risborough has been sentenced to over 13 years in prison for the calculated sexual abuse of underage boys, which he filmed and shared online. Bernard Moore, 57, of Cannon Place, was described by police as a 'calculated and vile individual' who preyed on vulnerable children over several years.
The case came to light late last year when Australian police discovered videos of the abuse online, leading to an investigation that unmasked Moore's twisted activities. At Oxford Crown Court last week, Judge Maria Lamb heard how Moore had hidden 'spy cams' in his home, which he dubbed a 'house of horrors', to secretly record the boys. The footage showed the victims, who were underage, being encouraged to perform sexual acts on themselves, on each other, and on Moore himself. In some clips, the boys were given beer and appeared drunk, while in others, they were asleep as Moore molested them. Moore then uploaded these videos to a Russia-based pornographic site, sharing his depraved content with others.
Detective Constable Leanne Moody, from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit at Oxford police station, commended the victims for their bravery in speaking out. In a statement following the sentencing, she said: 'Moore was a calculated and vile individual who preyed on the most vulnerable children. The victims in this case bravely spoke up about their abuse which has taken place over several years. If it was not for the courage of these victims, Moore’s offending would have continued. Moore not only sexually abused his victims, but he filmed the abuse to share with other individuals. The impact of his offending has had an enormous effect on his victims and their families. I hope the sentence will provide some closure to the victims and I thank them for their courage and strength throughout the course of this investigation.' The investigation was conducted by Thames Valley Police, highlighting the international cooperation that brought Moore to justice after the initial discovery by Australian authorities.
Moore was sent down for 13 years and four months, a sentence that reflects the severity of his child sex offences, including the production and distribution of indecent images. The court proceedings underscored the long-term trauma inflicted on the boys and their families, with police emphasising the importance of victims coming forward to prevent further harm.
