Chloee-May Danvers

A prolific sex offender, previously known as Thomas Quinn and now identifying as Chloee-May Danvers, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for a series of child sexual exploitation offences. The 25-year-old appeared at Chester Crown Court on 21 October 2024, where they pleaded guilty to multiple charges including making and distributing indecent images of children, attempting sexual communication with a child, breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), attempting to breach the SHPO, and failing to comply with sex offenders register requirements.

The case originated from routine monitoring by Cheshire Constabulary's Sex Offenders Management Unit. On 15 July 2024, officers visited Danvers' home on Housman Close in Chester as part of standard checks for registered sex offenders. During the inspection, they discovered two Category A indecent images of children in a deleted folder on Danvers' mobile phone. Danvers also admitted to resetting their laptop, which violated the conditions of their existing SHPO. Following this, Danvers was arrested, charged with making indecent images and breaching the SHPO, and released on conditional bail.

However, just three weeks later, on 5 August 2024, Cheshire Police received intelligence indicating Danvers was continuing to offend. Officers returned to the address and arrested Danvers on suspicion of sexual communication with a child. A search of their mobile phone revealed messages attempting to sexually communicate with a 9-year-old girl. Additionally, two unregistered social media accounts were found, through which Danvers had exchanged indecent images of children with other users, including Category A and Category B material. When interviewed, Danvers provided no comment to all questions but was subsequently charged.

Danvers appeared at Chester Crown Court on 13 August 2024 and entered guilty pleas due to the overwhelming evidence. Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Stephen Park of Cheshire Constabulary stated: 'Danvers is a prolific sex offender and an incredibly dangerous individual, and I welcome the sentence handed to them today. They were left with no choice but to plead guilty after a catalogue of evidence was gathered against them - including evidence of indecent material involving young children being discovered on their device. Even after their initial arrest and charge, Danvers continued to offend, accessing illicit materials, and attempting to sexually communicate with children, despite being on conditional bail.' Park emphasised that these crimes contribute to the sexual abuse of children and highlighted the force's commitment to pursuing such offenders.

The offences underscore the ongoing risks posed by registered sex offenders under monitoring, with Cheshire Constabulary's proactive approach leading to the discovery and prosecution in this instance. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance in preventing online child sexual exploitation.
