Offence Summary

Full Description

A 48-year-old man from Buntingford, Hertfordshire, has been imprisoned for 16 years following his conviction for a series of child sex offences committed over two decades. Kieran Logan, residing on Rushden Road, pleaded guilty to multiple charges at St Albans Crown Court, where the severity of his predatory behaviour was laid bare.

The investigation into Logan's crimes began in May 2024 when one of his survivors bravely reported the abuse to Hertfordshire Police. This initial report prompted a thorough inquiry by the Joint Child Protection Investigation Team (JCPIT), leading to Logan's arrest. Further evidence emerged in August 2025 when authorities seized his electronic devices, uncovering thousands of indecent images of children and identifying two additional victims. The offences dated back as far as 2003, highlighting the prolonged nature of Logan's exploitation of young girls, whom he preyed upon using his position as an older man to exert power and control.

At a hearing in September 2025, Logan admitted to the following charges: three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of sexual activity with a child, one count of sexual assault of a child, three counts of sexual assault by penetration, two counts of rape of a child, and one count of sexual assault by penetration. On 27 November 2025, he was sentenced to a 16-year custodial term, accompanied by an extended licence period of six years. Logan was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order with lifelong stringent conditions. Restraining orders were imposed to safeguard the victims from further contact.

Detective Constable Debbie West of the JCPIT commended the victims for their courage, stating, 'Kieran Logan is a dangerous offender and has had lasting effects on his victims, but I do hope that seeing him sentenced will go some way in helping them to move on from his abhorrent crimes. Logan preyed on young girls and used his position as an older man to hold power over them. He’s a sexual predator who will now remain behind bars for years to come, and his sentence reflects the severity of his crimes and the harm he has caused.' The case underscores the long-term impact of such offences and the importance of survivors coming forward, as reported by Jon Burke for Rayo Greatest Hits Beds Bucks Herts News on 28 November 2025.
