Offence Summary

Omarie Adams abducted a 13-year-old schoolgirl from a street in Leeds and raped her four times before being sentenced to an extended 20-year prison term.

Full Description

Omarie Adams, 34, of Second Avenue, Armley, Leeds, was convicted at Leeds Crown Court of four counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault against a 13-year-old girl.

On 11 September 2025, Adams approached the girl in broad daylight on a street in Leeds, abducted her and drove her to various locations around the city for approximately two hours, during which he subjected her to repeated sexual assaults. The victim provided police with a detailed description of her attacker and a phone number he had given her, which led to his identification and arrest.

Adams denied the offences, claiming during his trial that he had not noticed the girl was wearing a school uniform. He was found guilty on all counts. On 13 May 2026, he received an extended sentence of 20 years' imprisonment and was made subject to a restraining order. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for an indefinite period.

In a victim personal statement read to the court, the girl said: “This will affect my future because the incident has affected my self-worth and my belief in myself... Omarie Adams has taken away my dignity. This is not something I will ever get back. I hope he rots in prison.”

Detective Constable Ellie Middlemass of West Yorkshire Police stated that Adams had subjected a vulnerable young girl to hours of atrocious abuse and praised the victim’s bravery throughout the investigation.
