A sex offender from Folkestone has been sentenced to 11 years in prison following his conviction for serious sexual offences against a child. Leslie Iles, aged 61 and of no fixed address, was arrested in March 2017 after the victim reported the crimes to Kent Police. The offences occurred between 2008 and 2009, highlighting the delayed but eventual pursuit of justice in this case.

Iles stood trial at Canterbury Crown Court, where on Tuesday, 27 March 2018, he was found guilty of rape and sexual assault.
