Offence Summary

Morgan Lewis-Williams was jailed for 45 months after admitting to causing a child to engage in sexual activity and making indecent images of a child by pressuring a 14-year-old girl to share explicit images online.

Full Description

A 20-year-old man from Rhyl, North Wales, has been sentenced to prison for committing sexual offences against a teenage girl. Morgan Lewis-Williams, residing on Weston Road in Rhyl, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, where he received a 45-month custodial sentence following his guilty pleas to multiple charges.

The offences occurred in May 2024, when Lewis-Williams used online messaging to target a 14-year-old female victim. He sent a series of messages encouraging and inciting the girl to share explicit images of herself, resulting in charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of making indecent images of a child. The victim's family discovered the inappropriate messages on her phone and promptly reported the matter to North Wales Police, leading to Lewis-Williams' arrest.

At the sentencing hearing, the court imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order on Lewis-Williams and required him to comply with sex offenders register notification requirements for life. Detective Inspector Kris Williams of North Wales Police commented on the case, stating: "This was a deeply concerning case involving the sexual exploitation of a young person. Lewis-Williams deliberately used online messaging to manipulate and pressure a 14-year-old girl into sharing sexualised images, causing significant harm and distress."

DI Williams further praised the swift action by the victim's family, noting: "Thanks to the victim's family acting quickly and reporting their concerns to us, we were able to intervene, secure evidence, and bring Lewis-Williams before the court." He commended the bravery of the victim and the support from her family throughout the investigation, adding: "We hope that today's sentencing sends a clear message that exploiting children - online or otherwise - will not be tolerated, and that we will continue to pursue those responsible and bring them to justice."

The case was handled by North Wales Police, highlighting their commitment to protecting young people from online sexual exploitation. The full details were reported in an official statement published on the North Wales Police website on 3 February 2026.
