Offence Summary

Kenneth Harrison, a paedophile from Banbury, was jailed for 15 months after pleading guilty to possessing four extreme pornographic images and breaching a sexual harm prevention order. This followed his earlier conviction for attempting to meet decoy children online for sex.

Full Description

Kenneth Harrison, a 62-year-old resident of Golden Villa Close in Banbury, Oxfordshire, appeared at Oxford Crown Court on 25 November, where he was sentenced to 15 months in prison for possessing extreme pornographic images and breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

Harrison pleaded guilty to the charges, which involved four extreme pornographic images found in his possession on 29 October in Banbury. The breach related to a sexual harm prevention order imposed upon him in 2022, following a prior conviction. In that earlier case, Harrison was sentenced to five years and three months' imprisonment for attempting to meet with two of five online 'girls' for sexual purposes. The 'girls' were not real children but adults posing as minors in an online sting operation designed to catch potential paedophiles.

According to court records, Harrison was arrested at Banbury coach station while waiting to meet one of the decoy children he had been communicating with online. This incident highlighted his predatory behaviour towards what he believed were underage girls. The 2022 order was intended to prevent further such activities, but Harrison's recent possession of extreme images demonstrated non-compliance.

The case was reported by the Oxford Mail, with details emerging from the court proceedings at Oxford Crown Court. Thames Valley Police were involved in the investigation, as indicated by the custody image provided from 2022. Harrison's actions underscore ongoing efforts to monitor and prosecute individuals who pose risks to children through online grooming and possession of prohibited materials.
