Full Description

Simon Morgan, a 40-year-old man from Neath, South Wales, has been sentenced to an extended 10-year prison term for the historical rape of a woman in 2015. This conviction adds to his previous 14-year sentence imposed in April 2025 for other violent and sexual offences, including rape, coercive controlling behaviour, and actual bodily harm (ABH) committed against a different victim in 2021.

The latest case, investigated by the Rape Investigation Team of South Wales Police, centred on the rape that occurred in 2015, predating Morgan's earlier convictions. Following a thorough investigation, Morgan was found guilty this week, resulting in the consecutive 10-year sentence. This brings his total time behind bars to 24 years, ensuring he will spend nearly a quarter of a century in prison.

Detective Emma Robbins, from the Rape Investigation Team, commented on the case, stating: 'Simon Morgan’s sexual and violent offending is disgusting and is not limited to just one victim. He is a permanent threat to women’s safety and there is no doubt that had his brave victims not come forward, he would be committing these same offences to someone else today.' She further praised the victims' bravery, noting: 'We commend the victims for their immense bravery in speaking out. The Rape Investigation Team led a thorough investigation into Simon Morgan’s crimes, and this has resulted in a horrible man finally facing justice.'

Morgan, residing on Groves Road in Neath, has a pattern of exploiting his power over defenceless women, as highlighted by the police. The sentencing reflects the severity of his repeated offences, with Robbins adding: 'It is pleasing to see such a violent and dangerous man – one who has repeatedly exploited his power over defenceless women – consigned to such a large prison sentence.' The case was reported through official channels by South Wales Police on 11 February 2026.
