Full Description

Christopher Stephen Garroch, 34, from Denbigh, has been sentenced to three years and seven months in prison at Caernarfon Crown Court after changing his plea just before trial to guilty on charges of supplying illegal drugs to a teenage boy and sexually assaulting him. Judge Huw Rees noted the significant effect on the victim, who suffered worsened depression and self-harm attempts, blaming himself for the incident.

The court heard details of the exploitation following the drug supply. Garroch must sign the sex offenders register indefinitely and is subject to a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order barring contact with the victim. North Wales Police prosecuted the interconnected drug and sexual assault offences.

The conviction addresses the vulnerability of young people to combined drug supply and sexual abuse, imposing lifelong restrictions on the offender.
