Offence Summary

A convicted paedophile who failed to comply with notification requirements as a sex offender, putting his job before a court order.

Full Description

At Durham Crown Court, sentence was deferred for six months on Darron Wilkinson after he admitted failing to comply with notification requirements as a sex offender.

The court heard that Wilkinson, a convicted paedophile, had put his job before a court order, thereby putting himself at risk of activation of a suspended prison sentence.

The case was heard on 29th May at Durham Crown Court. Wilkinson, from County Durham, had previously been convicted of sexual offences and was subject to notification requirements. His failure to comply with these requirements led to the current proceedings.

The Northern Echo reported that the sentence deferral allows Wilkinson a further six months before final sentencing, during which time his compliance with the notification requirements will be monitored.
