Full Description

A Stamford man, Caine Hull, has been sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison for committing serious sexual offences against two women. The crimes occurred in November 2018 when Hull was just 17 years old. Following a trial in July 2022, he was found guilty of sexual assault, attempted rape, and attempted robbery.

The case came to light after the victims bravely reported the incidents to the police. Hull's actions involved a sexual assault on one woman and an attempt to rape another, demonstrating a pattern of predatory behaviour. Despite the passage of time and delays in the legal process, exacerbated by Hull's refusal to accept responsibility, the court delivered justice.

Detective Constable Kerry Munro, the officer investigating the case, commended the victims for their courage in supporting the investigation. She stated: “It’s been a long wait for them to finally see Hull face justice for what he has done. No sentence could make up for the harm he has caused but I hope today’s result brings some peace and consolation to these inspirational women.”

In addition to his custodial sentence, Hull has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring to protect the public. The case underscores the determination of Leicestershire Police in pursuing perpetrators of sexual offences, no matter how long it takes.

This sentencing, reported by Henry Winter and published on 2nd November 2022 via Greatest Hits Radio Rutland, highlights the severe consequences for those who commit such crimes and the importance of victim support throughout the judicial process.
