Full Description

William Kennedy, aged 50, of Brocklehurst Street in New Cross, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court where he was sentenced for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Between 12 June and 4 July 2025, Kennedy intentionally communicated online with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. During these interactions, he discussed sexual acts and sent a photograph of his genitals, intending to obtain sexual gratification.

He was arrested on 4 July 2025 after being confronted by paedophile hunters. Kennedy pleaded guilty to the charge at Bromley Magistrates' Court.

On 28 May 2025, he received a community order that will run until November 2027. As part of the order, he must complete a 26-day programme and up to 20 days of rehabilitation activities. He was also required to sign the sex offenders' register for five years at Lewisham Police Station.
