Full Description

Mehdi Zare was given a 12-year sentence in January 2017 for sexually exploiting a young girl, arranging encounters with other men in exchange for drugs or money, following her initial grooming by Mohammad Rostami. The abuse occurred in Chelmsford, Essex, within a community network.

Prosecuted alongside Rostami and Amin Kaveh at Chelmsford Crown Court, Zare's role in the ongoing exploitation was central. Judge Patricia Lynch highlighted the severity of the criminality involved in such grooming and trafficking.

Essex Police dismantled the operation, rescuing the victim and convicting the perpetrators, addressing organised sexual exploitation of minors.
