A man from Wellingborough has been imprisoned for 11 years following his conviction for serious child sex offences at Northampton Crown Court.

Daniel Stanley Bradshaw, aged 27 and residing on Fulmar Lane in Wellingborough, was found guilty on two counts of raping a child under 13, two counts of touching a child under 13, and one count of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. The sentencing took place on Friday, 25 November 2016, marking the culmination of a thorough investigation led by Northamptonshire Police.

The case highlights the ongoing commitment of Northamptonshire Police to child safeguarding. DC David Charman, who spearheaded the investigation, expressed satisfaction with the sentence's length, stating: “I’d like to commend the courage of the victim who bravely spoke out against Bradshaw and I hope they can start to put events of the past behind them and rebuild their life, now that justice has been done.” Charman further emphasised the force's priorities, noting: “Child safeguarding is a priority for Northamptonshire Police. We take all reports of child abuse extremely seriously, investigate all allegations thoroughly and will do all we can to bring offenders to justice.”

In addition to the custodial sentence, Bradshaw has been placed on the sex offender register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring to protect the public.
