Offence Summary

A Birmingham man who sexually groomed girls across the UK and was found in possession of more than 700 indecent images of children.

Full Description

Luke Edmonds, aged 25, of Quarry House Close, Rubery, Birmingham, was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court after being convicted of sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, possession of indecent images of a child, and sexual communication with a child.

West Midlands Police received information in October 2025 that Edmonds was uploading indecent images of children online. Officers executed a search warrant at his home on 14 October 2025 and seized a mobile phone. Examination of the device revealed more than 700 indecent images and videos of children, all relating to four girls aged between 13 and 15 who had been groomed via Snapchat.

Edmonds had travelled to meet the girls in Bristol, South Wales, Chester and Scotland. His Snapchat account contained almost 400 separate message threads in which he targeted young girls, using a profile purporting to be a 15-year-old boy. He also produced a photocopy of a fake passport claiming to be 18 when meeting one of the victims.

DC Adrian Jackson of the West Midlands Police Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team (OCSET) stated: “The messages between Edmonds and the children he abused showed he had a clear pattern of offending and would gain their trust through expressing his love for them before bombarding them with sickening demands day and night. Edmonds was a prolific offender who had a fascination with underage girls.”

Edmonds was jailed for 15 years and seven months. He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life and received a restraining order in respect of each girl he targeted. The case was prosecuted by West Midlands Police.
