Offence Summary

Peter Dzudza, a child rapist from Slovakia, was jailed after carrying out a shocking sexual attack on a vulnerable elderly woman while she slept in a private cubicle at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Full Description

Peter Dzudza, a 28-year-old man from Slovakia with a history of drug use and schizophrenia, targeted a vulnerable elderly woman at Bradford Royal Infirmary earlier in 2024. Described as homeless and seeking shelter from the cold, Dzudza had been staying in the hospital when he entered the victim's private cubicle and sexually assaulted her while she slept.

The court at Bradford Crown Court heard harrowing details of the attack, which was characterised as shocking and predatory. Dzudza's actions left the victim terrified and highlighted the vulnerability of hospital patients. Prosecutor details were presented, emphasising the severity of the offence against a defenceless individual in a place meant for care and recovery.

During sentencing, the judge condemned Dzudza's behaviour, noting his mental health issues and substance abuse did not excuse the crime. Dzudza was convicted of rape and sentenced to imprisonment, reflecting the gravity of the sexual offence committed within the UK jurisdiction of West Yorkshire.
