Full Description

A man from Stoke-on-Trent has been convicted of serious sexual offences after raping a woman and secretly filming her in private moments. Jaroslaw Adamkowski, aged 42, targeted a survivor in acts that took place earlier in 2025, leading to his guilty plea at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

The offences began in January 2025 when Adamkowski recorded the woman in a state of undress on two separate occasions without her knowledge or consent. These voyeuristic acts involved capturing private moments using his phone, violating the survivor's privacy in her own home. The situation escalated in February 2025 when Adamkowski raped the survivor, an assault that prompted her to bravely report the abuse to Staffordshire Police later that month.

Following the report, Staffordshire Police launched an immediate investigation. Officers arrested Adamkowski and questioned him, during which they examined his phone and discovered the incriminating videos. The evidence was compelling, leading to charges of one count of rape and two counts of voyeurism for recording a private act. Initially, Adamkowski pleaded not guilty to the offences, but on 2 October 2025, faced with the strength of the evidence and the survivor's courage, he changed his plea to guilty in court.

Adamkowski was remanded in custody following his plea and is scheduled to be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 3 November 2025. Detective Sergeant Razwana Nasheen, from Staffordshire Police's rape and serious sexual offences unit, commented on the case: 'I’m pleased that we’ve been able to secure this result for the survivor who has been incredibly brave in coming forward and speaking to us about the abuse she suffered.' The investigation highlights the police's commitment to pursuing justice in sexual offence cases, with the evidence secured through thorough digital forensics and survivor testimony.

This case underscores the hidden dangers of voyeurism combined with physical sexual assault, where non-consensual recording exacerbates the trauma inflicted on victims. Staffordshire Police's involvement from the initial report to the courtroom has been pivotal in holding Adamkowski accountable.
