Offence Summary

Lilith Kovers admitted to making and distributing indecent images of children, possessing prohibited images, and extreme bestiality images, with evidence of sharing material among online groups and engaging in explicit messages with a 15-year-old.

Full Description

Hull Crown Court heard how police uncovered a disturbing collection of child sexual abuse material on the devices of Lilith Kovers following concerns over online uploads. On 9 November 2022, authorities identified two indecent images of children uploaded to the internet, tracing them via a telephone number and IP address to Kovers, a 27-year-old Lithuanian resident of Axdane, Orchard Park estate, Hull.

Officers searched Kovers' home on 12 December 2022, where they seized a mobile phone and laptop. Forensic analysis revealed a total of 1,853 indecent images and videos of children, categorised as follows: 373 images and 21 videos in the most serious Category A, 417 images in Category B, and 785 in Category C. Additionally, 243 prohibited images and 14 videos were found, alongside 87 extreme images involving bestiality with animals and children. Evidence showed that Kovers had distributed one prohibited image of a child on 28 April 2022 and had engaged in conversations with other individuals, sharing indecent pornographic material within a group of online offenders.

Prosecutor Benjamin Donnell detailed how Kovers exchanged sexually explicit messages with a 15-year-old, highlighting the exploitative nature of the communications. During police interview, Kovers admitted past involvement in a group that viewed and sent indecent images of children, claiming it provided a 'high' due to the illicit nature, though denying any sexual interest in children. Kovers had no previous convictions.

Mitigating, Michael Masson noted Kovers' sincere remorse and determination to reform, stating she had left that behaviour behind to 'keep on the straight and narrow'. Kovers entered guilty pleas to three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of distributing an indecent image, possessing a prohibited image of a child, and possessing extreme images.

The court imposed a 16-month prison sentence, suspended for an unspecified period, along with 30 days' rehabilitation activity requirement and a five-year sexual harm prevention order. The case was reported by Hull Live on 21 June 2024, based on proceedings at Hull Crown Court.
