Full Description

Peter Greenslade, a 57-year-old man from Bridford in Devon, was sentenced to 22 years in prison at Bristol Crown Court on 15 September 2025 following his conviction for serious sexual offences against two children. The court heard that Greenslade had committed nine counts of rape, two counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, with the abuse taking place in the Honiton area.

The case came to light in 2019 when one of the victims bravely disclosed the rapes and other sexual abuse she had endured as a child at the hands of Greenslade. Several months later, a second victim came forward, detailing similar experiences of abuse during his own childhood. These disclosures prompted an investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police's Public Protection Unit.

During police interviews, Greenslade denied all allegations against him. However, after a trial at Bristol Crown Court, the jury dismissed his version of events and found him guilty on all counts. Judge Anna Richardson imposed the 22-year custodial sentence, reflecting the gravity of the non-recent offences.

DC Jon Stephens from the Public Protection Unit described Greenslade as a 'dangerous individual who has escaped justice for many years'. He commended the victims for their 'immense bravery' throughout the proceedings, noting the serious psychological impact the abuse has had on them. The case underscores the importance of reporting historical sexual offences, as highlighted by the police investigation.
