Full Description

On Tuesday, 22 April 2025, a disturbing incident unfolded in War Memorial Park, Coventry, when 45-year-old Ranjit Sadra approached a woman and exposed himself before undressing completely. The act occurred in a public area where other park visitors, including young children, were nearby, heightening the alarm caused by his behaviour.

Sadra's actions did not stop there; he also touched another woman inappropriately in a separate part of the park, constituting a sexual assault. Witnesses and the victims promptly alerted authorities, leading to police intervention. Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the scene, where they arrested Sadra on the spot.

Following his arrest, Sadra was charged with indecent exposure and sexual assault. He appeared before Coventry Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 24 April 2025, where he pleaded guilty to both offences. The court remanded him in custody pending his sentencing hearing at Coventry Crown Court scheduled for 22 May 2025.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police provided a detailed account of the events, stating: 'A Coventry man has been convicted of indecent exposure and sexual assault following an incident in the city on Tuesday. This statement underscores the swift response by police to protect the public in this popular recreational space.

Sadra's guilty plea marks a significant step in the judicial process, though the full extent of his sentence remains to be determined at the upcoming Crown Court hearing.
