Full Description

Tionne Hunter, a 23-year-old man from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, appeared before Northampton Crown Court where he was sentenced for committing a string of horrifying offences against women. Initially denying some charges, Hunter eventually pleaded guilty to all 12 counts, which encompassed both sexual and non-sexual crimes. The court, presided over by Recorder Stuart Sprawson, imposed a custodial sentence of 32 months' imprisonment, reflecting the severity and breadth of his actions.

The offences detailed in the case included two counts of sexual assault, highlighting direct physical violations against victims. Hunter also admitted to sending pictures of a person's genitals on two occasions—one with the intention of causing distress to the victim and another for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification. Additionally, he was charged with indecently exposing his genitals, further demonstrating a pattern of sexually motivated behaviour. These acts were compounded by engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour, which likely contributed to the psychological harm inflicted on the victims.

Non-sexual offences formed part of the indictment as well, such as damaging a car belonging to one of the victims, sending malicious and offensive messages over a prolonged period, and actual bodily harm. Hunter also faced charges for possession of amphetamine and two counts of assaulting a male police officer, indicating additional criminality beyond the sexual elements. The prosecution's case, supported by evidence from Northamptonshire Police, underscored the distressing impact on the women affected.

In addition to the jail term, Hunter was subjected to a five-year restraining order to protect the victims from further contact. He will also be required to sign on the sex offenders' register for ten years, acknowledging the sexual nature of several offences. This sentencing, reported by the Northamptonshire Telegraph on 17 February 2026, serves as a stark reminder of the legal consequences for such predatory conduct within the community.
