Full Description

A paedophile from Cambridge has been sentenced to over six years in prison for sexually assaulting two vulnerable girls. Kester Hale, aged 44, of Ferndale Rise, Cambridge, was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual offences against children following a trial at Peterborough Crown Court.

The offences against the first victim began in January 2016, involving inappropriate touching, but were not reported to the police until November 2022. During the same investigation period, a second girl came forward, reporting that Hale had touched her inappropriately between January 2018 and December 2019. Hale denied the allegations when interviewed by officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

On 19 November 2024, Hale was convicted on three counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching and one count of sexual assault. He was sentenced to six years and six months' imprisonment. The case was prosecuted by Cambridgeshire Constabulary, who highlighted the severity of the crimes in protecting children from sexual predators.

DC Natalie Marriott, the investigating officer, stated: “These were vile sexual assaults on two vulnerable victims so I’m glad Hale has been jailed. Protecting children from sexual predators like Hale is a force priority and we are working hard, day-in-day-out, to put them before the courts.” The sentencing underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address child sexual exploitation in the region.
