Offence Summary

Mohammed Nadim was convicted of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in a BMW on Alum Rock Road in Birmingham, as part of an initial encounter that led to her further exploitation by the gang.

Full Description

Mohammed Nadim was one of four men convicted at Birmingham Crown Court for sexual offences against a 16-year-old girl, including his direct involvement in an early assault that set the stage for her ongoing exploitation. West Midlands Police's thorough investigation brought the perpetrators to justice.

The sequence of events started on Alum Rock Road in Birmingham, where Nadim, alongside Arqash Zaffar, approached the girl in their BMW. After she initially refused Zaffar's advances, a subsequent encounter saw her persuaded to enter the car for a supposed lift. Nadim and Zaffar then drove to a secluded spot, where they sexually assaulted her in the vehicle before heading to Walsall. Crucial evidence from the car's sound system, linked to the girl's phone, helped identify the BMW.

  • This assault preceded the girl's transport to Manchester, where she faced rape by Zaffar and Shiraz Nassir.
  • Further incidents occurred in Walsall hotels and back in Birmingham, involving additional abusers.
  • The case relied on hotel records, vehicle registrations, and surveillance data to connect the offenders.

Mohammed Nadim, 45, of Holtshill Lane in Walsall, was convicted of sexual assault. He joins the other defendants in being remanded in custody, with sentencing set for 19 March 2026 at Birmingham Crown Court.

Detective Constable Stewart Garratt of West Midlands Police's Public Protection Unit remarked: 'She is commended for her bravery... specialist child abuse officers worked extremely hard to identify these men, and in doing so have got justice for her.' The convictions emphasise the police's commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals from such predatory behaviour.
