Full Description

Eden Dyson, a 33-year-old man from Leeds, was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in the Bradford district. The incident occurred in March 2023, and Dyson was tried at Bradford Crown Court where a jury found him guilty of the sexual assault charge.

Dyson, residing on Bentley Lane in Meanwood, Leeds, had a significant criminal history with 28 previous convictions for 41 offences. Despite his defence barrister Abdul Shakoor arguing that Dyson could not recall much of the incident due to heavy drinking and use of controlled drugs, the court proceeded with the sentencing. Shakoor noted that Dyson wished to apologise for his behaviour and was making progress in custody by addressing his drug and alcohol issues. He highlighted Dyson's motivation to avoid relapse upon release and his supportive role with other prisoners through the Samaritans.

On Wednesday, Judge Kirstie Watson imposed a sentence of three years and six months' imprisonment on Dyson for the offence. As a result of the conviction, Dyson is required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. The case was reported by The Telegraph & Argus, with an image provided by West Yorkshire Police.
