Full Description

Safraz Ahmed Latif, 40, formerly of Bradford and now held at HMP Leeds, was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault at Bradford Crown Court in a case of historic child sexual abuse involving victim 'Anna'.

The indecent assaults occurred between 2002 and 2004 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, targeting Anna when she was 13 to 15 years old. The investigation began in 2019 after Anna reported the crimes to West Yorkshire Police, leading to an extensive probe and four trials conducted under reporting restrictions that have been lifted.

Latif is the eighth man convicted in this series of child exploitation offences from the early 2000s. Currently in custody, he awaits sentencing. The case's resolution after years of investigation demonstrates the persistence required to achieve justice in sensitive historic sexual offence matters.
