Full Description

A man from Llanberis, Gwynedd, has been jailed for exposing himself in a doctor's surgery and other lewd acts, marking a serious breach of court-imposed restrictions designed to curb his sexual offending behaviour.

Salvador Ahmed-Younge, 39, of High Street, Llanberis, appeared at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on Monday, where he admitted multiple charges including breaching a sexual harm prevention order, exposure, theft, possession of cannabis, and outraging public decency. The offences occurred on 6 May 2022. District Judge Gwyn Jones sentenced him to 12 months in custody for the breach, with an additional six months activated from a previously suspended sentence, resulting in a total of 18 months behind bars. Ahmed-Younge must also register as a sex offender for the next 10 years.

The court heard that Ahmed-Younge exposed himself to a patient inside a GP surgery in the Caernarfon area, a location likely to include vulnerable individuals. Judge Jones remarked on the incident, stating: "Your record of offending does you no favours. There’s a long history of non-compliance with court orders." He further emphasised the severity, noting: "Such a flagrant disregard of an order of the court can only mean one thing, an immediate period of custody." The sexual harm prevention order had been specifically implemented to control his lewd behaviour following prior convictions.

Defence solicitor Deborah Davies provided context on Ahmed-Younge's background, explaining that he had spent four years in a medium secure hospital and had begun using drugs from a young age due to a traumatic childhood. Despite this, the judge highlighted the public safety risks posed by his actions in a medical setting.
