Full Description

On the early hours of 1 June 2024, Tevin Sherif, a 21-year-old man from Dolphin Drive in Houghton Regis, unlawfully entered an unknown property in Luton, Bedfordshire, where he sexually assaulted a child. The victim managed to alert her parents, prompting Sherif to flee the scene hastily.

Shortly after, Sherif broke into another nearby property but was confronted and stopped by two women who promptly alerted the police. He was arrested on the same day and remanded into custody. The incident highlighted Sherif's dangerous behaviour, as he sought to prey on vulnerable young people.

On Friday, 28 March 2025, at Luton Crown Court, Sherif was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment for attempted rape. Concurrently, he received a four-year sentence for trespass with intent to commit a criminal offence. The judge deemed him dangerous, imposing an extended licence period of five years. Sherif will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and was issued a restraining order along with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

This case was investigated by Bedfordshire Police, with the sentencing reported by local news outlet Greatest Hits Radio Beds Bucks Herts. The events underscore the ongoing efforts to protect children from sexual exploitation in the community.
