Full Description

Lloyd Thomas, a 58-year-old resident of Risborough Lane in Folkestone, Kent, was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment following his conviction for multiple serious sexual offences. The case, investigated by Kent Police, came to light when the victim bravely reported the abuse in November 2024. Thomas, described by detectives as a dangerous sexual predator, had subjected his victim to a sustained campaign of dreadful abuse over a three-month period.

The offences occurred between approximately August and November 2024, during which Thomas committed two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault, in addition to a harassment offence. Despite pleading not guilty to all charges, Thomas was found guilty by a jury at Canterbury Crown Court after a trial. He was arrested just three days after the victim's report and subsequently charged.

Sentencing took place on 20 November 2025, where Thomas received 10 years' custody, to be followed by four years on licence. Detective Constable Gemma Chadwick, who led the investigation for Kent Police, commended the victim's courage in coming forward. In a statement, she said: 'Thomas is a dangerous sexual predator who subjected his victim to a campaign of dreadful abuse. I am pleased that the victim found the courage to come forward, so that we could investigate Thomas’ crimes and ensure that he was made to face the consequences of his actions. I hope the sentence that has been imposed will help to bring her a sense of closure.'

The case was handled at Canterbury Crown Court, with specialist detectives from Kent Police ensuring a thorough investigation. This conviction underscores the force's commitment to supporting victims of sexual offences and bringing perpetrators to justice. Thomas's address in Folkestone places the crimes firmly within the jurisdiction of Kent Police in England.
