Offence Summary

Teejay Walton engaged in online sexual communications with a 12-year-old girl shortly after his release from prison for a previous sex crime, breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Full Description

Teejay Walton, a 24-year-old resident of Crewe, Cheshire, was imprisoned for 30 months after admitting to breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and engaging in sexual communication with a child. This incident occurred just weeks after his release from prison in December for a prior sex crime.

Walton, who is listed on the Sex Offenders Register and subject to a SHPO until 2033, began communicating online with a 12-year-old girl. During these interactions, he altered his social media settings to facilitate the contact. The breaches were detected through routine checks by the Sexual Offender Management Unit of Cheshire Constabulary.

PC Alex Barker from Cheshire Police commented on the case, stating: "Teejay Walton flagrantly breached his Sexual Harm Prevention Order within a month of being released from prison, showing that he had clearly not learned his lesson. As a result of his multiple breaches, and his admission that he engaged in sexualised conversations with someone he knew to be under the age of consent, he has now been returned to prison where he is paying the price for his sickening behaviour."

The case underscores the ongoing monitoring of individuals on the Sex Offenders Register. Officers conduct regular visits to ensure compliance with SHPO conditions and to prevent such offences. Walton's actions highlight the challenges in rehabilitating sex offenders and the importance of stringent post-release supervision.
