Offence Summary

Gregory Pichery, a former dance teacher, was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault against young male students at a performing arts college in Leicester and a victim at a grooming salon in Oadby.

Full Description

Gregory Pichery, a 57-year-old former dance teacher from Blackpool, was convicted at Leicester Crown Court of four counts of sexual assault following a trial that concluded on 11 November 2025. The offences, which spanned several years, involved inappropriate touching and exposure targeting young male victims during his professional roles in the performing arts and grooming sectors.

Between 2004 and 2013, while employed at a performing arts college in Leicester, Pichery targeted two male students aged 19 and 20 at the time of the incidents. Leicestershire Police reported that Pichery touched the victims inappropriately during dance classes and while they were trying on costumes. One victim recounted that Pichery had attempted to perform sexual acts on him, while the second victim described receiving sexual comments via social media alongside physical assaults during his time as a student.

  • The first victim initiated contact with police, detailing the assaults and attempts at further sexual acts.
  • The second victim was identified during the investigation and corroborated the pattern of grooming and assault.

In 2019, a third victim came forward, reporting an incident at a grooming salon in Oadby where Pichery worked. The victim stated that Pichery exposed himself and forced inappropriate physical contact. This account formed the basis for two additional counts of sexual assault.

Detective Constable Emma Burrows of Leicestershire Police, who led the investigation, described Pichery's behaviour as opportunistic and driven by personal gratification. 'It's clear from the nature of his offending that Pichery is someone who acts on opportunities to fulfil his sexual gratification,' she said. 'He clearly wasn't thinking about how his behaviour impacted on each of the victims.' The convictions included two counts relating to separate victims and two counts pertaining to one victim, highlighting a repeated pattern of abuse.

Pichery is scheduled to be sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on 12 December 2025. Authorities believe there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward, given the extent of his access to young people in educational and service environments.
