Full Description

Fletcher Massey, 21, formerly of Newland Grove off Newland Avenue in Hull, admitted to nine serious offences including rape, four counts of sexual activity with a child, two assaults causing actual bodily harm, and intimidating a witness, committed between June and September 2020. He targeted five teenage girls and one woman, using violence and threats to control his victims. Massey was sentenced to 12 years and three months in prison at Hull Crown Court.

The court heard harrowing details of Massey's predatory behaviour, including raping one girl and forcing her to cook and clean for him, degrading her further. He threatened to stab another girl in the face and coerced a third into watching a video of him performing a sex act. The judge described the offences as a pattern of sexual exploitation and violence against vulnerable young females, noting Massey's admission to all charges.

  • Massey admitted causing a girl to engage in sexual activity through coercion.
  • Victims included teenagers as young as 14.
  • The case involved multiple incidents of grooming and assault in Hull.

Reported by Hull Live on 11 June 2022, the sentencing highlighted the ongoing danger Massey posed. Prosecutor Richard Butters outlined the timeline, from initial targeting to violent enforcement. One victim's impact statement revealed lasting psychological harm, with fears of further attacks. Massey received an extended sentence due to his risk of reoffending.
