Timothy Glen Jarrett, a 45-year-old resident of Flaxman Croft, Copmanthorpe, York, has been sentenced to six years in prison following his guilty pleas to multiple child sex offences, exploitation, and drug-related crimes. The case, investigated by North Yorkshire Police, uncovered a pattern of predatory behaviour targeting vulnerable teenage girls between April and June 2024.

According to the investigation details released by North Yorkshire Police, Jarrett supplied drugs such as cocaine, ecstasy, and ketamine to teenage girls in exchange for sex or sexual acts. He recorded these encounters on video or images and even forwarded at least one such video to one of the victims. In one specific incident, Jarrett drove a girl to his home, provided her with drugs and alcohol, engaged in sexual activity with her, and filmed the event using his phone. Upon seizure of Jarrett's mobile device during the probe, authorities recovered 36 Category A, 27 Category B, and 17 Category C indecent images or pseudo-photographs of children, constituting child sexual abuse material. Furthermore, Jarrett shared two videos of this material with associates.

Jarrett entered guilty pleas in August 2025 to a series of charges at York Crown Court, where he was formally sentenced on 28 October 2025. The offences included:

  • 2 counts of arranging or facilitating travel of another person with a view to exploitation
  • 2 counts of distributing an indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child
  • 2 counts of making indecent photographs / pseudo-photographs of a child
  • 3 counts of making indecent photographs / pseudo-photographs of a child
  • 3 counts of offering to supply cocaine
  • 2 counts of offering to supply ecstasy
  • 2 counts of offering to supply a class B controlled drug - ketamine

In addition to the six-year custodial sentence, Jarrett was subjected to two 10-year restraining orders to protect the victims. Detective Constable Jenna Hallewell, of North Yorkshire Police's York and Selby Safeguarding Investigation Team, described Jarrett as 'a predatory offender who has targeted vulnerable girls to abuse for his own sexual gratification.' She commended the victims' bravery in providing evidence, which led to Jarrett's guilty plea and removal from the streets. The case highlights the ongoing efforts by North Yorkshire Police to safeguard children from sexual exploitation, with the investigation commencing in 2024 and culminating in the 2025 sentencing.
