Full Description

A man from Warrington has been imprisoned for 17 years following his conviction for multiple sexual offences against a child. Odday El-Saddi, aged 48, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on 7 July 2025, where he received his sentence and was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.

The court heard that El-Saddi began sexually assaulting the victim when they were just nine years old. The abuse occurred on multiple occasions between 2019 and 2022, involving serious crimes such as sexual assault of a child under 13 and rape of a child under 13. He was found guilty on 15 counts of sexual offences after a trial where the jury evaluated the evidence presented.

Detective Constable Jessica Taylor, who investigated the case for Cheshire Constabulary, commended the victim's bravery in coming forward and testifying. In a statement following the sentencing, DC Taylor said: 'El-Saddi is a dangerous individual, who sexually abused a child for years. He showed no remorse throughout the entire investigation, and even made his victim relive the experiences in court. Thankfully, as a result of the evidence gathered and the bravery of the victim, the jury were able to see through his lies and he is now being held accountable for his actions.' The investigation was thorough, prioritising the victim's needs, and led to El-Saddi's conviction based on compelling evidence.

This case underscores the long-term impact of child sexual abuse, with the offences spanning three years and causing significant distress. El-Saddi, residing at Regency Square in Warrington, will serve his custodial sentence, reflecting the severity of his crimes as determined by the court.
