Jordan Meek

A 22-year-old man from Maryport, Jordan Meek, has been sentenced to five years in prison following his conviction on eight child sex offences. The offences, which involved multiple assaults on a single victim, occurred over a four-year period between 2016 and 2020.

The case was heard in court where evidence was presented detailing the serious nature of the crimes. Meek was found guilty of subjecting the victim to repeated sexual abuse during this time. In addition to the custodial sentence, the court imposed an eight-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a lifetime restraining order to protect the public and prevent further offending.

Detective Constable Gail Penman from Cumbria Constabulary’s Public Protection Unit described Meek as a dangerous offender. She stated, “Meek is a dangerous offender who subjected the victim to multiple assaults over a number of years.” The investigation was handled by Cumbria Constabulary, highlighting their commitment to addressing child sex offences.
