Full Description

Jordon Kemlo, a 28-year-old from Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, has been identified as a serial sex offender who targeted young boys using the popular video game Minecraft to groom them. His criminal activities span both Scotland and the United States, resulting in multiple convictions for child sexual abuse.

In 2015, Kemlo was sentenced to four years in prison in Scotland by the High Court in Glasgow for sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy. The abuse, which lasted three years, occurred at Kemlo's home and the victim's house. The young victim described Kemlo as 'the bad boy'. Following his arrest, Kemlo told police, 'I never thought of the consequences. I was shocked, confused why it happened.' He later claimed he had intended to turn himself in but was too ashamed. Lord Burns ordered five years of supervision upon his release.

While on holiday in Tucson, Arizona, in 2015 at the age of 17, Kemlo committed further offences against four boys under the age of 15 in the same neighbourhood. He used Minecraft to lure and groom the victims, engaging in sexual abuse during their interactions. One victim's mother reported the abuse to police after her son began acting out upon Kemlo's departure, revealing that the attacks happened 'every day or once a week' while playing the game. Kemlo preyed on the boys multiple times, leading to charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, attempted sexual conduct with a minor, attempted molestation of a child, and solicitation to commit sexual conduct with a minor.

After returning to Scotland, Kemlo was extradited to the US in February 2018 following an agreement by the Scottish Government on 31 January 2018, after a hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. He was transported by US Marshals Service officers and held in custody at Pima County jail in Tucson for over a year. In court, represented by public defender Katherine Daubert, who requested leniency citing Kemlo's remorse and treatment in Scottish prison, he pleaded guilty to the charges. On sentencing, Judge Jeffrey Bergin at Pima County Superior Court imposed a 42-and-a-half-year term in the Arizona Department of Corrections, along with lifetime probation. Alan Goodwin, Special Victims Bureau Chief at the Pima County Attorney's Office, confirmed the sentence, stating, 'The Pima County Superior Court sentenced Mr Kemlo to 42-and-a-half years in the Arizona Department of Corrections.'

Currently incarcerated at the Barchey Unit of Arizona State Prison-Complex Lewis in Buckeye, Arizona, Kemlo faces additional charges that could extend his release date beyond 2057. In October 2023, he was charged with possession of drugs or narcotics. Last month, as of May 2025, he was found guilty of sexual contact in prison, which is illegal, and of resisting or disobeying orders from guards. An Arizona Department of Corrections source revealed, 'Jordon Kemlo was charged and found guilty last month with sexual contact in prison which is illegal.' A jail insider described him as 'the scum of the earth', noting his refusal to follow orders and engaging in 'disgusting stuff', warning that such behaviour could mean he 'never gets out'. Despite attending health and wellbeing seminars and self-control classes, his actions have drawn condemnation from prison staff.
