Full Description

Meekumar Issory, a resident of Mitcham in south London, was convicted of multiple child sex offences following a guilty plea in 2018. The offences, which occurred over a prolonged period, involved three female victims, all under the age of 13. Issory's predatory actions included digital penetration, sexual assault by touching, causing a child to watch pornography, exposure, and possession of indecent images.

Issory was sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison at a court in London in 2018. The case was investigated by the Metropolitan Police Service, with Detective Constable Kyla Mulley highlighting the severity of the abuse. She stated: 'The victims were abused by Issory at a very early age.' The sentencing aimed to provide justice for the young victims, who demonstrated courage in coming forward.

Issory remained in custody until his death on 25 January 2024 at HMP Rochester, where he was aged 82. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death in custody. The case underscores the long-term impact of Issory's prolific offending, with authorities noting that he may have abused others beyond the identified victims.
