Offence Summary

Nasir Nizam, a paedophile from Finedon, admitted to downloading and possessing hundreds of indecent images of children, including prohibited images, across multiple categories of severity.

Full Description

A paedophile from Finedon, Northamptonshire, has admitted to serious charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children. Nasir Nizam, aged 54, pleaded guilty to multiple counts of making and possessing prohibited images, facing sentencing at Northampton Crown Court.

The charges stem from two distinct periods of offending. Between May 2016 and November 2017, Nizam was convicted of making 189 Category A indecent images—the most severe classification—along with 133 Category B images and 28 Category C images. Category A images depict the most depraved content, including penetrative sexual activity and sadism. Additionally, he admitted to possessing four prohibited images of children from the same timeframe.

  • First period (May 2016 - November 2017): 189 Category A, 133 Category B, 28 Category C images; 4 prohibited images.
  • Second period (on or before 24 November 2020): 312 Category A, 225 Category B, 73 Category C images.

In a separate set of offences occurring on or before 24 November 2020, Nizam pleaded guilty to further charges of making 312 Category A images, 225 Category B, and 73 Category C images. These admissions were made during his appearance before magistrates at Northampton Magistrates' Court.

Following his guilty pleas, magistrates granted Nizam bail with strict conditions: no unsupervised contact with children under 18, reporting to police in Wellingborough twice weekly, and surrender of his passport. He is scheduled for sentencing on 16 April 2021 at Northampton Crown Court, where the court will determine the appropriate punishment for these grave offences.

The case highlights the ongoing efforts to combat child sexual exploitation through digital means. Under English law, such proceedings are held in open court to ensure transparency and act as a deterrent. As reported by the Northamptonshire Telegraph on 3 April 2021, Nizam's actions involved downloading or viewing these 'vile files', underscoring the severity of the material involved.
