Full Description

Danny Raymond Smith, a 34-year-old man from Iver, Buckinghamshire, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for a series of serious sexual offences against children. The case, heard at Amersham Law Courts, involved the abuse of two young victims over an extended period from 2017 to 2025.

Smith's criminal activities came to light when he attempted to upload indecent images of children to a Google account, prompting police intervention. On 23 July 2025, officers from Thames Valley Police executed a warrant at his home on Bangors Close, Iver, leading to his arrest. The following day, he was charged with multiple offences. A search of his computer revealed a vast collection of indecent images, totalling almost 5,000, including 956 Category A images—the most severe classification—956 Category B images, and 2,842 Category C images.

During a hearing on 14 November 2025, Smith pleaded guilty to five counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of raping a child under 13, one count of sexual activity with a child, and three counts of taking indecent photographs of a child. The court was told that Smith had targeted and abused two vulnerable children, exploiting them over eight years.

On 16 March 2026, Smith was jailed for 16 years and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. Investigating officer Detective Constable Lucy Sandford, from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in Aylesbury, commended the victims' bravery in coming forward. She stated: “I would like to commend the incredible bravery of the victims in this case. By coming forward and putting their trust in the police, they have helped us to put a dangerous and predatory man in prison. Smith targeted two children, who are some of the most vulnerable members of our society. I would urge anyone who has concerns for a child to please contact police. We will listen and we will work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.”

The case was reported by the Slough Observer, highlighting the ongoing efforts of Thames Valley Police to combat child sexual exploitation in the community.
