Offence Summary

John Pollock, a registered sex offender, approached two 16-year-olds and propositioned them for a threesome while confessing to having a micro-penis and bragging about his prior sexual offence conviction.

Full Description

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in Perth, Scotland, 61-year-old John Pollock, already a registered sex offender, targeted two 16-year-old teenagers with explicit and inappropriate advances. The event occurred on 22 August 2024, when the youths were waiting to be picked up. Pollock approached them uninvited, initiating the conversation by asking, 'Can I be honest with you?' He then brazenly revealed that he was a registered sex offender, having been convicted of a sexual offence just months earlier in August 2024. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, he proceeded to express his attraction to the pair, propositioning them with the shocking offer of a threesome.

Pollock's behaviour escalated as he made bizarre and crude confessions about his anatomy, stating he had 'a low-hanging penis. Actually, it's a micro-penis.' The teenagers, understandably alarmed and frightened, immediately called friends for help and later reported the encounter to the police, describing how they felt scared and unsure about the implications of his comments. Fiscal depute Angela Clay, during the court proceedings at Perth Sheriff Court, highlighted Pollock's high risk assessment to the public, underscoring the severity of his actions given his history.

Pollock, from Perth, admitted to making sexual remarks to the male and female 16-year-old. In his defence, solicitor David Holmes noted that Pollock had little recollection of the incident due to alcohol consumption and expressed deep embarrassment upon hearing the details. However, Sheriff Mark O'Hanlon condemned the behaviour as 'appalling,' criticising how Pollock approached and spoke to the young people. As a result, Pollock was placed under supervision for three years, subjected to a five-month curfew, and added to the sex offenders register for five years. This sentencing reflects the court's recognition of the ongoing threat posed by Pollock, building on his prior conviction.

The case, reported by the Daily Record on 3 November 2025, serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by young people in public spaces and the need for vigilance against predators with known histories of sexual offending. Police in the Tayside area, responsible for the region, investigated the complaint promptly following the teenagers' report.
