Offence Summary

Tyler Belgrave-Breeds paid for online advertisements promoting sex with young girls and was jailed for controlling prostitution and possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

Full Description

Tyler Belgrave-Breeds, 33, from Walsham Close in Thamesmead, was sentenced alongside Clinton Easy in a case involving the online advertisement of children for sexual exploitation. The investigation began with the Metropolitan Police's monitoring of high-risk offenders, leading to the arrest of Easy in November 2021. Further probing traced Easy's adverts back to Belgrave-Breeds, revealing that he had financially supported and facilitated the promotion of sex with the young victims through paid online ads. Police found substantial evidence on seized devices confirming Belgrave-Breeds' role in the distribution and possession of indecent images of children.

As a result of the joint efforts, three victims aged 13 to 17 were protected from further harm. The case exposed a network of digital grooming and exploitation targeting vulnerable girls. Belgrave-Breeds' involvement extended the scope of the investigation, requiring meticulous analysis of communication trails to connect the suspects.

On 21 June 2024, Belgrave-Breeds was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to two years and six months' imprisonment for controlling prostitution and possessing and distributing indecent images of children. He also received a sexual harm prevention order and was added to the sex offenders register for seven years. This conviction adds to Belgrave-Breeds' prior criminal history; in 2014, he was jailed for 14 weeks after an altercation with a bus driver in Bexleyheath, where he threw a can at the driver and engaged in disruptive behaviour witnessed by schoolchildren. Detective Sergeant Katy Lee commented on the case: 'We take harm to children and girls with the utmost seriousness and I am proud we are able to protect our communities as part of our mission to make London safer for women and girls.' The Metropolitan Police's thorough approach ensured justice was served in this disturbing exploitation ring.
