Full Description

Slawomir Pyza, 53, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court for two counts of sexual activity with a child after targeting two girls aged 14 and 15 in Tunbridge Wells parks on separate occasions five months apart. In the first incident near St Matthew’s Church in High Brooms Road, Pyza sat next to the 14-year-old on a bench, spoke to her in limited English about sex, called her sexy, kissed her hand, placed it on his thigh, and kissed her cheek.

Arrested and bailed, Pyza reoffended by approaching a 15-year-old in another park, touching her thigh, offering cigarettes and beer, and kissing her on the lips after she refused a cheek kiss. One victim texted 'SOS' to a friend, leading to her father and another man restraining Pyza until police arrived. He was convicted at trial in August 2025.

Pyza was jailed for 15 months in September 2025, having already served nearly six months on remand since March. Recorder Edmund Burge stated, 'I want you to understand how serious what you did is, and I hope you reflect on that in the years to come.' The court highlighted the fear inflicted on the vulnerable teenagers sitting alone.
