Offence Summary

A registered sex offender who was jailed for one year after breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and failing to comply with Sex Offenders Register notifications.

Full Description

Vincent Flemons, a 53-year-old registered sex offender, was sentenced to one year in prison at Huntingdon Law Courts on 7 May for breaching the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and failing to comply with Sex Offenders Register notifications.

Flemons had previously received the SHPO in July 2025 following convictions for offences involving children. The order prohibited him from installing, downloading, or using any instant messaging service that does not save internet history without prior written consent. It also required that any device he used must retain all internet history and that he must notify police of any change of address within three days.

Police monitoring software on Flemons' phone alerted officers in February when he downloaded a social media app that does not record chat history, without obtaining the required consent. A further search of his device revealed he had deleted several apps, including Instagram and Twitter, and had been staying at a property in Waterbeach without notifying police of the change of address.

On 7 May at Huntingdon Law Courts, Flemons, of no known address, admitted two counts of breaching a SHPO and one count of failing to comply with Sex Offenders Register notifications. He was sentenced to one year in custody.

The case was investigated by Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
