Full Description

Christopher Mervin Tucker, 71, of Bascraft Way, Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire, had his sentence increased from 11 to 16 years at the Court of Appeal in London on January 16, 2018, after it was deemed unduly lenient. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a girl under 13.

The abuses occurred between 2003 and 2016, coming to light in October 2016 when the victim reported to police. Tucker, described as having a mental age of 11 and being illiterate, was initially sentenced in November 2017. Judge Sir Brian Leveson stated 16 years was the minimum deserved.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary's investigation addressed the long-term abuse.
