Offence Summary

Johnny Gentle, a convicted stalker from Wigan, harassed his victim three times and assaulted her shortly after receiving a suspended sentence and restraining order, leading to his remand into custody. He also breached the sex offenders' register by failing to notify authorities of his address and has prior convictions for upskirting and voyeurism.

Full Description

Johnny Gentle, a 33-year-old man with no fixed address, appeared before Wigan magistrates on 25 November 2025, where he pleaded guilty to multiple serious offences committed just days after his initial sentencing for stalking.

Gentle had previously been given a suspended sentence and a restraining order for stalking a woman. However, in blatant disregard of these court-imposed restrictions, he harassed his named victim on three separate occasions: 12 November, 13 November, and 15 November 2025. Additionally, on the night of 12 to 13 November, he assaulted her by beating, escalating the harassment into physical violence.

Further compounding his breaches, Gentle admitted to failing to notify the authorities of his latest address on 9 November 2025, in violation of the requirements of the sex offenders' register. This breach is particularly significant given his prior convictions for upskirting and voyeurism, which had placed him on the register in the first place. These earlier sexual offences involved non-consensual recording and observation, highlighting a pattern of invasive and predatory behaviour towards women.

Following his guilty pleas, Gentle, who also uses the alias Kyle Furlong, was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear before a judge at Bolton Crown Court for sentencing on 16 December 2025. The case was reported by Wigan Today, a trusted local news source established in 1853, underscoring the swift judicial response to such repeated violations in the Greater Manchester area.

The incidents took place in Wigan, within the jurisdiction of Greater Manchester Police, who are responsible for prosecuting the case. No specific quotes from court proceedings were detailed in the coverage, but the admissions of guilt by Gentle leave little ambiguity regarding his culpability.
