Andrew Collins, a 35-year-old man from Beechwood Avenue in Ealing, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on 22 January 2025 following a trial where he was found guilty of rape. The incident occurred on 12 November 2024, when Collins followed the victim through Slough town centre between 6pm and 7pm. CCTV footage captured his actions as he trailed her before sharing his contact details and arranging to meet later that evening.

During the subsequent meeting, Collins supplied the victim with alcohol and then raped her. He was arrested on 19 November 2024 and charged the following day. The trial, which lasted six days, concluded on 17 November 2025 with a unanimous jury verdict finding him guilty of one count of rape. The jury acquitted him of one count of oral rape and one count of sexual activity by penetration.

Collins received an extended sentence of 13 years, comprising 10 years in custody and an additional three years on licence. Investigating officer Detective Constable Cat Sykes commended the victim's bravery, stating: "The victim in this case has shown immense bravery throughout this investigation and we thank her for her continued support, patience and the faith she has placed in the Criminal Justice System." Sykes further emphasised the seriousness of the crime and the commitment of Thames Valley Police to prosecuting sexual offenders, noting: "Collins’ sentencing today is a testament to the commitment of Thames Valley Police to bring to justice sexual offenders and to make our streets a safe place for everyone."
